Different Strokes: A Perspective on Leadership and Policy Management in Business and Government

Speaker: Dr Phil Burgess, Group Managing Director for Public Policy and Communications, Telstra

Dr Burgess will address key public policy issues as seen from a public and private perspective - including how law, the architecture of embedded digital codes, markets and social norms are all part of the process of regulation, even while we tend to concentrate on the law.

The Commonwealth, the Courts and the Constitution

Speaker: Dr David Bennett AC QC, Solicitor-General of Australia

Dr Bennet will examine the manner by which the Commonwealth participates in, and thus influences the outcome of, constitutional cases before the courts, and argues that the Commonwealth's approach enables it to combine the best aspects of the public and private sectors.

This lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
